The safari begins at The Outback Africa Lodge in Cape Town. Explore
the Cape Region today.
Our first week's travels lead us along the Garden Route, enjoying
Whale watching, exploring the Wilderness Great Lakes region and
the Tsitsikamma National Park en route.
During the second week, we spend three days on the Wild Coast, enjoying
the warm Indian Ocean and the unspoilt beaches. We move on to spend
two days in the Drakensberg Mountains in bungalows, to escape the
snow in winter. Thereafter we explore the Zulu & Swazi Kingdoms,
walking with local guides in the game reserves found herein.
Our third week finds us in the world famous Kruger National Park
for two days, and after a scenic day spent on the panorama route
of the Mpumalanga region, we head for Gauteng and the City Of Gold.
A Soweto tour and the Rhino Lodge fixed accommodation in Johannesburg.
Our last week is spent in the Kalahari Desert enjoying the Kaglagadi
National Park, and the Cedarberg Mountains, where we spend two days
savouring the wilderness.
The safari ends on arrival back at the Outback Africa Lodge in Cape
Town.

SOUTH AFRICA SAFARI ITINERARY
A Safari of variety and magnitude, of a World in one. When one
lives in a country you tend to seek the diamonds on far away
horizons, often ignoring the multitude of precious stones beneath
your feet. We introduce the SA Complete tour, hoping to create an
everlasting impression of our country, and in doing so, giving you
the complete spectrum of our land.

DAY 1
We meet and, after checking in, depart from The Outback Africa
Safari Lodge in Cape Town. We start the sightseeing day with a
hike up Table Mountain . Thereafter, we explore the Cape region;
visiting the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Point and the
penguin colony near Simon's Town. Lunch will be spent overlooking
the ocean whilst enjoying the local cuisine.
Tonight we dine with the Outback Africa Management and enjoy a
safari briefing. B
DAY 2
Our destination tonight is De Hoop Nature Reserve, a
paradise for seasonal whale watching.
After exploring the reserve and beaches, we enjoy our first camp
experience, and get closer to nature tonight. Big campfire and
tall stories. BD
DAY 3
Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves. En route we will stop at
an Ostrich farm for lunch. Thereafter we will do a tour of the
Cango Caves and travel over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass towards
the coastal region of the Wilderness National Park, where we enjoy
late afternoon walks into the forests. BLD
Day 4
A morning to explore the town of Knysna, flea markets and
many art galleries.
Visit the Heads, two sandstone cliffs that flank the entrance to
the Knysna Lagoon, and thereafter the Tsitsikamma National Park.
Explore the Storms River Mouth on a short but eventful hike.
The rugged coastline is a photographer's dream. BLD
DAY 5
This morning we visit Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa 's
surfer's paradise.
Enjoy the waves of the Indian Ocean. Thereafter it is onto the
Addo Elephant National Park in search of the endemic elephants
found there. Tonight, time can be spent at the spot-lit waterhole,
hoping to observe the creatures of the night. BLD
DAY 6
The Wild Coast is calling. Travel via East London to camp
on the beach at Morgan's Bay.
We spend the afternoon enjoying the warm Indian Ocean.
Long sunset walks collecting shells is the programme for the
afternoon. BLD
DAY 7
Travel north to our next Wild Coast destination, Coffee
Bay. We arrive early and spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach
or swimming in the Indian Ocean. Explore the Coastline. BLD
DAY 8
Today is a day of sightseeing. We explore the region,
visiting the Hole in the Wall viewpoint near Coffee Bay and
enjoying the Xhosa Culture. Enjoy a seafood meal in a local
restaurant tonight. BL
DAY 9
The Drakensberg Mountains . Travel through the rural old
Transkei to our base in the Southern Drakensberg. A long day on
the road. Enjoy the mountain air of the majestic mountains of the
dragon.
The afternoon is spent preparing for the hike that we will
undertake the following day. BLD
DAY 10
We awake at dawn and, after a hearty breakfast, head out
to explore the Drakensberg region; extensive hiking, San rock art,
open meadow picnics, mountain stream fishing and snow in winter.

DAY 11 (Cape Town to Durban Module Ends after
Lunch / Durban to Johannesburg / Cape Town Begins at Lunchtime)
An early departure, we travel south towards Durban and thereafter
head north through the Natal Midlands to Zululand. The
Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve is the greatest rhino sanctuary in
the world.
Exclusive camp in a private game reserve. BD
DAY 12
We spend two days in Zululand , giving us the chance to
absorb the Zulu culture and to find the animals endemic to this
region. After an early game walk in the private reserve, we enjoy
a visit to a Zulu cultural village.
Be entertained by a traditional Zulu dance.
The Zulu warriors were a fierce adversary to the European settlers
in by gone times.
A Late afternoon game drive is spent in the Hluhluwe Game reserve,
where we are sure to get up close and personal with the Rhinos
found in the park. BrD
DAY 13
Leaving Zululand today we head north towards our next destination,
a new country, the Kingdom of Swaziland. Our destination today is
Swaziland 's premier National Park. Hlane Royal National Park.
The afternoon is spent doing an extensive game walk in the
National Park; here we hope to meet the rhino or elephant found
herein on foot. BLD
DAY 14
We travel the short distance through majestic sugarcane
fields to the Kruger
National Park. After lunch we will do an extensive
game drive in search of the wildlife for which this park is
famous. We hope to find the "Big Five", Lion, Leopard,
Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino. BLD
DAY 15
En route to our next campsite in the Kruger National
Park, we stop for a picnic brunch.
After setting up camp and enjoying a short siesta, we do another
game viewing excursion. BrD
DAY 16
We leave the Kruger National Park today to explore the
multitude of natural attractions found here:
Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window and the
Three Rondavels.
We will visit the multitude of waterfalls found in the area.
Thereafter we head for the historic gold mining town of Pilgrim 's
Rest, where we camp the night. Enjoy a drink in the old Hotel
tonight. BLD
DAY 17 (Johannesburg to Cape Town Module Begins
at Lunchtime)
The City Of Gold. Johannesburg is our destination, and after
checking into our Guest Lodge we do a tour of Soweto in the
afternoon, giving us the chance to meet Africa first hand. Enjoy a
beer in a local beerhall with the residents. BL
DAY 18 (Cape Town/Durban
to Johannesburg Module Ends after Breakfast)
Kuruman is our stop today. Depart early and journey into the maize
farmlands or breadbin of South Africa.
The red sand is a sign that we near the Kalahari.
Spend the late afternoon escaping the heat in the pool. BLD
DAY 19
After stocking up in town we travel the dusty road to one of the
best-kept secrets in Africa. The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in
the Kalahari Desert. One of the largest protected wilderness areas
in Africa. The search begins. BLD
DAY 20
Rise with the sun and resume our search, often spending
long periods waiting for that special moment at waterholes or in
the dunes. The Kalahari Lion is the largest Lion found in the
world and just to spend a moment with this black maned King of the
Beasts is not only a privilege but also an experience that you
will never forget. Not only the Lion, the Raptors and the desert
dwelling creatures will fascinate all wildlife enthusiasts. Return
for a hard earned brunch and siesta period to while away the heat
of this unforgiving land. Late afternoon sees us sifting the red
sands, searching for those who have not been found. BLD
In the Kalahari Desert, only the patient are
rewarded.
DAY 21
Leaving the Park, we travel down to an arid wine farming
area of our country.
Augrabies Falls National Park is our destination. After lunch and
siesta around the pools we will head out to search for Black
Rhino, Eland, Giraffe, Gemsbok and Klipspringer Antelope.
Witness the spectacular Augrabies Falls, where the mighty Orange
River plunges over the granite gorge on its lonely journey to the
Atlantic Ocean. BLD
DAY 22
Travel south into the true remote wilderness area of the
Western Cape.
The splendour of the Namaqualand Flower Carpet in springtime is a
sight to behold.
Camp tonight in the Cedarberg Mountains. BLD
DAY 23
Today we explore the Cedarberg Mountains. Unique rock
formation hikes, Wine farms, Trekking opportunities or just simply
relaxing next to a mountain stream.
We camp our last night of this tremendous safari. BLD
DAY 24
En route to Cape Town we pass through small farming towns
and upon reaching the Mother City" we finally close the
complete circle. The safari ends on arrival in Cape Town in the
late afternoon. BL |
