CAPE KALAHARI OKAVANGO DELTA SAFARI
Our first week's travels lead us into the Cedarberg Mountains for
extensive hiking and thereafter onto the Augrabies National Park.
Extensive uncommercialized period of three days are spent in the true

beasts. Be exposed to the last San Culture.
Finally the ultimate wildlife destination in Botswana. We spend two
nights on the verge of the Moremi Game Reserve and enjoy game walks and
makoro trips in the Okavango Delta.
Thereafter 2 days in Chobe. You will never forget this Africa, which you will be exposed to.

CAPE KALAHARI SAFARI ITINARY
The Ultimate
Safari, hauntingly desolate and totally uncommercialized.
We are alone in our Africa here, with only
nature as our companion.
But that is exactly why we are here, and we do not intend sharing the
experiences with everyone.
Open spaces, vast
sects of virgin Africa with its natural inhabitants. We go back
in time to a period of San Culture, herds of wild animals and distant
horizons.
Will we ever be able to face civilization once more?

BR - BRUNCH
L - LUNCH
D – DINNER
DAY
1
We
depart from our Guest Lodge in Cape Town and travel into
the true remote wilderness area of the Western Cape. We camp tonight
in the Cedarberg Mountains. The afternoon is
spent on a short walk to a waterfall, or a swim in one of the many rock
pools or rivers. Today we relax, for tomorrow we walk. / BLD
DAY
2
We
rise with the sun and set out in search of the Maltese cross in the Cedarberg Mountains.
After an eventful hike, we visit a wine farm in the mountains to savour the
wines of the Cedarberg. Return to our base, refresh in the cold waters of
the mountain streams and enjoy a campfire in the cold clear mountain air.
BLD
DAY
3 & 4
We
vacate camp and make our way towards the Augrabies National Park.
The Kalahari Desert is harsh in reality. We spend the
late afternoon sipping sundowners at a viewpoint overlooking the longest
river in South Africa. The Orange River. A long, but
rewarding day. Early morning finds the Land Rover on an extensive game
drive in search of the animals found in the Augrabies National Park. We return for a
well-earned brunch, swim and siesta before we once again embark on another
adventure into the wilderness. BLD / BrD
DAY
5
Kuruman
is our stop today. Depart early, and journey into the maize farmlands of South Africa.
Spend the late afternoon escaping the heat in the pool. Tonight we re-enter
civilization, and enjoy a restaurant meal. BL
DAY
6
Big
sand, the true adventure begins. We cross the border into Botswana, and drive the
long and sandy road to our new home for the next three days. Mabuasehube
Game Reserve , a 57000km² pristine wilderness area dedicated to the animals
endemic to the desert region. Set up camp and relax after the tedious day
on the road. Large camel thorn campfire tonight to ward off the predators.
BLD
DAY
7
We
rise with the sun and scout the dunes, searching for telltale signs of the
predators of the night. The long drive is rewarded by a hearty brunch and
siesta in the heat of the day.
The Kalahari Desert is a raptor paradise, and we are
sure to find the birds of prey of the desert. We end the day with our late
afternoon game drive in the Landy. BrD
DAY
8
A
new day, a different area. Today we explore different corners of this
pristine wilderness, hoping to meet the majestic black mane Kalahari lion
or the nomadic brown hyena.
Watch in fascination as the male sand grouse takes water back to his chicks
in his feathers.
Late afternoon game drives to absorb the solitude and escape the reality of
modern life. BrD
DAY
9
With
open eyes we leave this area and make our way slowly northwards towards
Ghanzi and the People of the Desert. The San People. We set up camp in a
community campsite and rid ourselves of the red sand under cold showers. Relax
and interact with the local San population. The evening is spent enjoying
traditional Bushman dancing or story telling. Our homeland seems far away
tonight. An educational and humbling Cultural day today. BLD
DAY
10
We
rise with the sun and experience the ways of the Hunters and Gatherers,
learning the arts of survival in this harsh land. Would we make it out here
alone?
After this learned experience we bid farewell to these noble people and
travel northwards to the Okavango Delta, and the start of the next
adventure. Travel in 4x4 over sandy conditions to the verge of the waterway
and our base camp for our Okavango Delta excursion.
Relax this afternoon, after preparing for the days to come in the
wilderness of Botswana. Br
DAY
11
An
early start. A wild place. First we transfer by motorboat to our Okavango
Delta swamp island. Today we finally meet Africa and camp wild
under the Palm or Ebony trees. We spend the evening around the campfire
enjoying the aura of wild Africa, and looking over
our shoulders into the darkness. BLD
DAY
12
The
rich bird life of the Okavango Delta is really great to behold. A game walk
in the morning and spend the heat of the day in the shade of great
Jackalberry trees, relaxing and enjoying the solitude of being alone in paradise,
days that will never be forgotten. A late afternoon makoro excursion
upstream in search of the shy Sitatunga antelope or secretive Pel`s fishing
owl rounds off our experience in paradise. BrD
DAY
13
Early
transfer back to our Okavango base camp and the
Hills of Tsodilo is our new port call for this evening. After a strenuous
drive, we reach the 4 separate hills, where we set up camp. Late afternoon
we explore the Male & Female Hills with a local guide. We are sure to
find signs of San occupation. The Tsodilo Hills is a sacred destination,
and we come away with an awe not explained in modern civilizations. BLD
DAY
14
Ngepi
Camp on the Okavango River is our next
destination. Ngepi is a great birding area in which the Paradise Flycatcher
and Giant Kingfisher, two of the many rare bird species, are found. A
beautiful decadent camping experience. Dinner in the ethnical camp
restaurant tonight. BL
DAY
15
Crossing
the border back into Botswana, we make our way
to the Chobe National Park. We camp next to
the park on the banks of the Chobe River and enjoy the
option of sipping cold beers on the sundeck whilst enjoying a
commercialised afternoon relaxing at the poolside. BD
DAY
16
We
camp on the banks of the Chobe River for two days,
giving us the chance to explore the reserve in our open Land Rover and by
boat. We conduct a morning game drive into The Chobe NP, an area that
abounds with Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo and many
Antelope species. We hope to find the Puku Antelope, an antelope endemic to
the Chobe floodplains. The park contains a multitude of aquatic bird
species and the visitor is sure to observe the majestic Fish Eagle or the
acrobatic Bee-eater.
In the afternoon we do a boat cruise into the Chobe N.P. giving us a chance
to get up close and personal with the Hippos and Crocodiles. B
DAY
17
A
new day, the last country, Victoria Falls in Zambia is calling. After
the border crossing and a short drive we set up camp outside the bustling
town of Livingstone. Today we will
visit the world-famous Victoria Falls. (Entry own
expense)
One great way to end a fantastic adventure is by having a second fantastic
adventure: Rafting the mighty Zambezi River. Do not be afraid,
as this is the ultimate way of forging a unique bond between world
travellers who have become friends. BLD
DAY
18
Today
is yours to raft, fly, jump, ride or sightsee. The Zambian side of Victoria Falls is a
recommendation for its curio market and rainforest. B
DAY
19
After
breakfast we bid our guide farewell, and embark on our journey home. B
